“You know what, I’m very attracted to someone who makes me laugh and is charming. Really I can be charmed by anyone. I’m just a sucker for someone that is charming.”-Beyonce Knowles
What designer wouldn’t get inspiration from this amazingly humble yet skilled songstress and actress? Beyonce has topped the charts for years and this pop queen is said to be bff’s with our President Barack Obama (that’s a Big deal)! Family is important to Beyonce and now she has her first child and Blu Ivy already has her own shoe.
Bey is a big Ruthie Davis fan; who’s a great shoe designer. Blu’s booties have more than $800.00 worth of Swarovski crystals on them. I am a big fan of the shoe myself and I absolutely love it! Ruthie Davis does not have a children’s shoe line, but is thinking very seriously about starting one now. I say she goes for it! If you are interested in her work check her out at http://www.ruthiedavis.com.
What do you think about the shoe?? Like it or not? What about the price? Do you think only the rich can afford it! Until next time….xoxoxoxoxo
“What I have discovered is that in art, as is in music, theres a lot of truth and there is a lot of lies. The art is essentially is creating his work to make this lie a truth, but he slides it in amongst all the others. The tiny little lie is the moment I live for, my moment. It’s the moment where the audience falls in love”.-Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga obviously wanted a big reaction from the press when she arrived to the Philip Treacy fashion show in a burqa (an outer garment worn by women in Islamic societies specifically to hide their face or bodies) and a bedazzled clutch with the word C.U.N.T. written across. It’s been said that Lady Gaga has been blasted by PETA for obvious reasons of wearing fur which PETA is totally against.
This time she fought back by rocking a few dead raccoons as her accessories. She is so rebellious! This is not at all shocking to me knowing that I have done my homework on Gaga she represents ideas whether they be horrific or not. She is a total bomb of a singer and she supports art and music so need I say more. She’s okay in my book. xoxoxoxo
“I get my ideas out of my dreams…..if you’re lucky enough to use something you see in a dream; it is purely original. It’s not in the world it’s in your head. I think that is amazing.-Alexander Mcqueen
So New York Fashion Week, now branded Mercedes Benz Fashion Week has come and it has gone. However, every single designer that participated in the show did a great job and I have not had a chance to go through all the lines but I have a mix of content.
Rebecca Minkoffs’ clohing line was inspired by looks from the 60’s and 70’s. Minkoffs’ line this year left spectators longing for the need of that past-due vacation!! Her pieces were practical and can be put together very easily. With a blend of floral and solid pieces it makes a good combination of balance.
The black and white Oscar De La Renta pant suit is characterized with uptown swish and wild style. Oscar De La Renta has become and is still becoming a house hold name. Anne Romney wore ODLR when she went to the Republican convention.
Alexander McQueen has been mourned throughout the world and still his legacy lives on through his clothing. McQueen was named by Queen Elizabeth the Commander of the British Empire 2003. How validating is that?! Theatricality is the adjective that most describes McQueen he has a look that is described as a horror.
Karl Lagerfield theme was based off of the Fortress of Solitude in the Superman movie. Lagerfield said it best, “nature’s the greatest designer.” The models eyebrows were a mini version of the bigger them; with crystals bordering their arch hand glitter landed on their eyelids. Lagerfield mastered the three-piece coat which he had attempted but this year he nailed it!
Narcisso Rodriguez got his name recognition when designed the wedding gown for Carolyn Bassestte who was marrying John F. Kennedy Jr. back in 1996. He was on the fast track to American Fashion and worked his way up to own fashion line in Milan. He is known for his fine lines and pure forms. I love the two dresses they are sexy and sophisticated and plus it leaves much to the imagination.
Gucci has that aristocratic look. The reason why Gucci carries such an aristocratic look is because Guccio Gucci used to work at the most famous Savoy Hotel in London and worked closely with aristocrats and he saw how luggage played a big part in that culture. Now I can understand why his suits are fit for a politician.
Good evening my loves,
“Her godmother simply touched her with her wand, and, at the same moment, her clothes were turned into cloth of gold and silver, all decked with jewels.” -Charles Perrault
I was flipping through the new In Style magazine checking out the trends for the fall, and honestly I was tired of the same old- same old. I was looking for some trends that really popped not anything classic but something fresh; something we needed! So I turned passed Gucci, Chanel and Calvin Klein but when I ran into the be-jeweled trends that are hitting the streets Lanvin did it on them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets take a look!
The most important thing about jewels is how to wear your hair! The sleek look is what you have to wear according to In Style magazine. Do not, I repeat; do not overdue the accessories. Too many accessories with this dress would be overkill! Lol! So ladies season and holidays are upon us and these looks are easy to create at home so DIY or hit the stores! Until next time XOXOXOXO! Oh shop Lanvin at http://www.lanvin.com/e-lanvin/INT/.
